Cat's Behavior

We all do love cats because of their adorable cuteness. Fur here, fur there, fur everywhere in our homes. But little do we know that they have these behavior and mannerism that we, humans, doesn't know. Here are some of their behaviors and what do they mean or what do they want to tell you:

1. Sleeping or resting on warm surfaces.

Sometimes, we find our cats resting on our laptops, cellphones, televisions and other things with hot surfaces. Cats need at least 12-16 hours of sleep and needs the warmth of our appliances for their delicate bodies. So next time, do not disturb your cat!

2. "Gift" of the catto.

We often freak out whenever we found a dead rat or a cooked fish (which is probably not yours) inside our house. According to animal behaviorists, cats are imitating what they see on us. Like scratching, bestowing such gifts is natural cat behavior.

3. Cat scratch.

Us humans tend to clip our nails whenever we feel that it is long. Same with cats. They scratch to get rid of dead nail growth. According to Reader's Digest there are two important explanation with cat scratching. First is to mark their territory with their sweat glands on their paws and of course, to stretch.

4. No tummy rubs!

We assume that whenever cats shows their bellies, they wanted a tummy rub. According to Reader's Digest, in some cases, yes but little do we know that showing their bellies is a cat language of "You wanna fight? Bring it on." It is their defensive move whenever they are ready to attack. So next time, no more tummy rubs for your furry friend.

5. Non-stop meow-ing

Sometimes, we are annoyed by our cat's "meow" up to the point that we shove them away. Don't. If our cats are noisy, they might be ill so you should bring them to the vet. Or maybe, they're just calling for your attention.
